Mac Lipstick Dupes: Modesty and Rebel + Swatches

Hello everyone,

I have an interesting post for you today that may just save you some pennies. I will be compare two very popular Mac lipsticks with two very similar Barry M  lipsticks. Barry M are more commonly known for their great nail polishes or glitter pigments, however surprisingly their lipsticks will give you a run for your money.

First up I will be comparing the ever loved Modesty lipstick by Mac this is a great nude colour perfect for everyday in the office or even rocking it with a sexy smokey for a night on the town. It is a cremesheen formulation meaning that its super moisturising but still have great pigmentation. We then have the Barry M lipstick in shade #150, this again is the perfect nude for night and day wear. In comparison to Mac modesty the colour is almost identical as shown in the swatch at the end of this post, however the formulation of the Barry M lipstick in less creamy and therefore lasts a few hours longer. So its really your call ladies!!!

Next up we have the infamous Mac rebel lipstick. This lipstick is deemed to be the perfect autumnal shade as it has the perfect mix of berry and pink to bring out your vampy yet girl side. This is a satin finish from Mac and it almost acts like a lip stain without the drying effect they tend have on your lips especially in these cold months. I love satin finishes as they last so long, I literally don't have to reapply my lipstick all day. An amazing dupe for this Amazing shade is Barry M Shade #156. This shade looks exactly the same in the stick, however when swatched it comes up a bit lighter, however do not despair the lipstick can be layered up to almost perfect match to Mac Rebel and that's for a third of the price. The lasting power of the Barry M lipstick is great, lasts between 4-5 hours before reapplication is needed.

Left to right: Barry M #150, Mac Modesty, Barry M #156, Mac Rebel.

The Mac lipsticks retail for £15 each whereas the Barry M lipsticks retails for £4.49. You could save over £10!!! If like me though you just have to have the Mac lipstick to add to your collection, maybe try out the Barry M one first to make sure the shade is right for you. Because I know there is nothing worse than parting with your hard earned money for something you will never use. So there you have it ladies two beautiful dupes for Mac Modesty and Rebel, and in my opinion the Barry M lipsticks are great and a bloody bargain. If you keep a look out Boots often have 3 for 2 offers on, and you could save even more. These are definitely two of my favourite lipstick shades to wear, what are your favourite shades? Let me know in the comment below.

Thanks you reading guys!!!

First Impression: Nars Orgasm & Sin Blush + Swatches

Hello everyone!

So I finally got my hands on some Nars blushes! After about 3 hours of looking as swatches online I decided to go with the infamous Orgasm and Sin.

Orgasm: is a pretty coral/pink blush with gold shimmer running through it, it is said that this shade suits all skin tones. I definitely think this is true because it just looks flattering on all different skin tones, I love how it adds definition to my cheek. It just adds a very healthy glow to my face, my friend even thought I had a facial done. Haha! RESULT!

Sin: is lovely berry shade with gold shimmer running through it. I think this one is a little harder to wear and it will look better as the months get colder and lipstick becomes darker. I cannot wait to wear this with a simple eye and Rebel lipstick by Mac!

Overall I have extremely happy with both shades I bought, Orgasm being more wearable than Sin but still I am very pleased with the quality of the products. I am hoping to expand my Nars blush collection, any recommendation?

Revlon lip butters: Rave review & Swatches ♥

Hello everyone!

I'm sure you have all heard of these little bad boys, Yep! Revlon lip butters I think they are bloody amazing and I am here to share my thoughts with you. Here's what Revlon says about them

Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%

- Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth
- Sheer to medium colour with buttery shine
- Available in 20 luscious shades

I own 6 out of the 20 shades that are available: (left to right) Strawberry shortcake, Peach parfait, Sweet tart, Lollipop, Pink truffle and Berry Smoothie.

Strawberry shortcake is a very light baby pink colour, however because it has sheer colour pay off it adds a nice subtle pink tinge to the lips. This is perfect for my NC40 complexion, as light pinks tend to wash me out.
Peach parfait is a nice peachy nude colour with glitter flecks in it, this will definitely flatter most skin tones. It is an everyday kind of lipstick it, has that 'my lip but better' effect. Although if you do not like glitter on your lips I would steer clear of this colour as the glitter is very noticeable.
Sweet tart is by far my favourite bring pink lipstick! It is a soft bright pink with orange undertones, and if like me you find it hard to wear bright pink lips this will be perfect for you. This lip butter is also more pigmented than the other two I mentioned and therefore can be worn in the day or evening.

Lollipop is the most pigmented of all the lip butters I own, it is a deep fuchsia pink with some purple like undertones which means it will again suit most skin tones especially darker skin tones.
Pink truffle is as the name suggests a pinky/brown nude colour perfect for everyday wear however this tends to be a more mature colour, however I find it perfect for work as it is subtle and elegant.
Berry Smoothie is my favourite of them all, it is very comparable to plumful by mac, it is a soft plum colour with sheer colour pay off however it is buildable. Its is a perfect autumn colour, this is my everyday lip in autumn/winter.

Here are swatches of all 6 colours:

Now many lip products claim to be moisturising but unfortunately very few are... However Revlon lip butters claim to moisturise the lips by up to 156% and although I can't specifically say by what percentage, I will definitely agree that these lip butters helped keep my lip nice and moisturised! The colour pay for these lip butters are incredible (the pictures really don't do them justice) and for such moisturising lip products this is rather impressive! Well done Revlon!

Another thing which I love love love about these lip butters is that they smell so yummy!! They smell like coco butter and ice cream although not everyone agrees with me, I don't know maybe my nose smells what it wants. Also I must say the packaging for these lip butters are pretty cute, and have a some what Chanel feel to them with the quilted look. I mean look at them...  So freaking CUTE!

Overall I can't recommend these enough! They smell great, look great and are affordable what more could you ask for?! Next on my wishlist is Candy apple!

Let me know if you have tried these and what you think of them..
